Bandera County residents are gearing up to end the year on a festive note as volunteers plan to light up the historic courthouse lawn once again.
For the past five years, the holiday display has been a community effort, with local church groups, 4-H members, school clubs, and even juvenile probation participants joining individual volunteers to make the courthouse glow with Christmas spirit.
This year, longtime volunteer Chip Argones has stepped forward to lead the effort in decorating the courthouse, assisted by Bandera County Commissioner Jack Moseley.
“Last year, it took about three days to complete the setup,” Moseley said. “Most of the work was done on the first Saturday, thanks to everyone’s help.”
Weather permitting, the decoration process will kick off on Saturday, November 23, at 10 a.m.
Volunteers are welcome to join and lend a hand.
The lights are scheduled to turn on for the season on Sunday, December 1, 2024, marking the official start of the holiday festivities in Bandera.
