In recognition of National Diabetes Month this November, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension is providing free access to its online course, Cooking Well with Diabetes, designed to support individuals managing diabetes and those who prepare meals for them.
The four-lesson course, available on the AgriLife Learn platform, equips participants with practical skills for preparing nutritious and balanced meals.
The series covers topics such as identifying carbohydrate-rich foods, portion control, reading nutrition labels, and meal planning using the Plate Method.
The course also features exclusive recipes from the Dinner Tonight program to help participants make healthier, diabetes-friendly meal choices.
“Offering this course at no cost during National Diabetes Month is part of our commitment to community health and education,” said David Leal, Extension Program Specialist at Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. “We understand that navigating a diabetes diagnosis can be overwhelming. Our goal is to provide practical, research-backed tools that make managing diabetes easier and more enjoyable.”
The self-paced course is available to anyone who registers on the AgriLife Learn website.
