Several Medina High School volleyball players were recognized for their outstanding performances on the court and in the classroom as part of the 2024 All-District and Academic teams.
Senior Hallie Kunz was named District Co-Most Valuable Player, capping off a stellar season. Senior Brooke Mancha earned Offensive Player of the Year, while sophomore Crista Zirkel was named Blocker of the Year.
Other players earning spots on the All-District teams included senior Ella Castillo, who made 1st Team All-District. Juniors Audrey Gatlin and Kailey McCabe, along with senior Ahnika Grassie, were selected for 2nd Team All-District. Senior Sienna Carter received Honorable Mention All-District recognition.
In addition to their athletic achievements, Medina players were honored for academic excellence. Eight athletes were named to the Academic All-District team: Sienna Carter, Hallie Kunz, Brooke Mancha, Ahnika Grassie, Ella Castillo, Kailey McCabe, Audrey Gatlin, and Crista Zirkel.
The Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) Academic All-State list included Sienna Carter on 1st Team, Hallie Kunz on 2nd Team, and Brooke Mancha, Ahnika Grassie, and Ella Castillo receiving Honorable Mention.
