The Boys & Girls Clubs of Bandera County celebrated a major development for local kids and teens last Friday, unveiling a newly renovated teen center featuring cutting-edge technology made possible by a $100,000 donation from Bridgestone Retail Operations.
The donation, part of the Bridgestone Driving Great Futures initiative, supported upgrades that include E-sports technology, Lego robotics equipment, SmartBoards, and other tools for interactive learning.
The enhancements aim to provide students with opportunities to engage in innovative educational experiences.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Bandera County was one of only three clubs nationwide to receive a technology grant from Bridgestone this year.
The Driving Great Futures program has raised more than $25 million since 2015 to help youth across the U.S. access Boys & Girls Clubs resources.
Amy Ouellette, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bandera County, joined Bridgestone Area Managers Patrick Harris and Kyle Smarr to deliver remarks during the event.
Club kids, families, staff, board members, and community leaders attended the celebration at the club’s location on 715 Maple St.
“This donation marks a transformative moment for our Club and the youth we serve,” Ouellette said. “With these technology upgrades,
