The Bandera Middle School Lady Bulldogs basketball teams faced tough competition from Devine, resulting in hardfought games across the board.
8th Grade A Team
The Lady Bulldogs’ 8th grade A team fell to Devine, 41-20, despite a strong first half where they trailed by only three points. Rehnahta Gomez led the team in scoring with six points, while Gracen Spruel and Blu Rollo each contributed four. Brooke Montelongo stood out defensively with three rebounds and five steals.
8th Grade B Team
The 8th grade B team also faced a challenging game, losing 33-12. After a slow start, the Bulldogs turned up their defense, holding Devine to just two points in the second quarter. Jazmine Rhodes led with six points, two blocked shots, and six steals. The loss brought the B team’s season record to 2-2.
7th Grade A Team
The 7th grade A team battled a competitive Devine squad but ultimately lost 3716, bringing their record to 2-2 in district play. Stat leaders included Vanessa Gonzales with four points, six steals, and two rebounds, and Brenna Bryd, Olivia Lane, and Harper Hicks, each contributing key points and defensive efforts. The team aims to bounce back in their next matchup against Pearsall.
7th Grade B Team
The 7th grade B team fell 23-6 to a solid Devine team, bringing their record to 1-3 in district play. Defensive highlights came from Michelle Melton, who recorded six blocks, and Mika Gray, who added two points, three steals, and four rebounds. The Lady Bulldogs are ready to regroup for the second round of district play after the holidays.
