Medina FCCLA honors veterans through wreaths across America

The Medina High School chapter of the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) made a significant impact this year with its Wreaths Across America initiative, raising funds to place more than 220 wreaths on the graves of veterans at Oak Rest and West Prong Cemeteries.

The effort brought the community together in a heartfelt tribute to honor local heroes and promote patriotic unity.

“This initiative ensures we remember the fallen, honor those who serve, and teach the next generation about the value of freedom,” said an FCCLA spokesperson.

The campaign was part of the nationwide Wreaths Across America movement, which saw over 4,600 locations participating this year.

Millions of Americans gathered to commemorate veterans’ sacrifices through ceremonies and wreath-laying events.

Wreaths Across America began as a small gesture of gratitude and has grown into a powerful national tradition.

Over the past decade, volunteers and organizations have worked tirelessly to expand the program’s reach and foster a deeper appreciation for those who served the country.

A $500 donation from the Bandera American Legion Post #157 played a key role in the Medina FCCLA’s success, helping to ensure every veteran at the cemeteries received a wreath.

The donation also lays the foundation for next year’s campaign, which organizers hope will continue to inspire the community.

The Medina FCCLA chapter expressed gratitude to all supporters who contributed to this year’s effort and emphasized the importance of remembering veterans’ sacrifices year-round.
