A Kerrville man was arrested on December 11, 2024, after an investigation into child pornography led to the discovery of illegal material on his electronic devices.
The investigation began in November 2024 when the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) about child pornography being transmitted from a location in Kerr County.
KCSO’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID) identified the source as a residence in the 2000 block of Zysko Lane.
On December 10, law enforcement officers from the KCSO’s Special Operations Division (SOD) executed a search warrant at the home, recovering several cell phones and computers from two residents.
After examining the devices, the KCSO Forensic Lab confirmed that one of the residents, 40-year-old Michael Alan Harvey, was in possession of child pornography.
As a result, three arrest warrants were issued. On December 11, Harvey was located and arrested at his residence without incident. He was booked into the Kerr County Jail, with a total bond set at $105,000.
The investigation is ongoing as more digital evidence is reviewed.
Sheriff Larry Leitha commended the efforts of the KCSO teams, stating, “We will use every legal tool to protect our kids.”
He added that the collaboration between CID and SOD continues to produce successful outcomes in the fight against crimes targeting children.
As with all criminal cases, charges may be added or modified before trial, and the suspect is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
