Locals recognized for collegiate achievements

Two students from Bandera County were honored for their academic accomplishments at Texas institutions of higher education.

Peterson Makes Dean’s List

Kytlin Peterson of Medina was named to the South Plains College Fall 2024 Dean’s List.

Peterson was among more than 700 students recognized for achieving a GPA of 3.25 or higher while completing at least 12 credit hours.

South Plains College, located in Levelland, Texas, serves a 13-county region with educational programs spanning arts and sciences, technical education and workforce development.

McDaniel Graduates ASU

Catherine McDaniel of Pipe Creek graduated from Angelo State University during the Fall 2024 commencement ceremony held on Dec. 14 at the Junell Center/Stephens Arena in San Angelo.

McDaniel earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, joining 641 graduates who received undergraduate and graduate degrees.

Angelo State University, part of the Texas Tech University System, has been recognized as a Hispanic Serving Institution and one of The Princeton Review’s “Best Colleges” since 2010.

These accomplishments highlight the dedication and hard work of local students pursuing higher education.
