The Bandera High School Star Steppers traveled to New York City this week and completed 20 hours of rehearsal for their dance number in the 97th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
The group will be announced as the “Spirit of America” dance stars during the parade on Thanksgiving Day.
The parade is scheduled to begin at 8:30 in EST, broadcast simultaneously on NBC and Telemundo livestreamed on Peacock. A rebroadcast begins on NBC at 2:30.
During their stay, the team visited the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Macy’s Department Store, the Today Show and saw two Broadway shows.
"I am so proud of these girls and what they've accomplished in order to make this trip and perform this dance number in the parade. I can't say enough about their work ethic and love for each other as a team," commented Mrs. Regina Johnston, sponsor.
Mrs. Johnston and all of the Star Steppers "Want to thank the Bandera County community for all of their support and generosity. We especially want to thank the Bandera Bulletin for getting our story to the citizens of Bandera County. We couldn’t have done it without everyone!! Happy Thanksgiving from the Sweethearts of the Cowboy Capital of the World! We hope you enjoy the parade."
