The Bandera Bulldogs’ 8th grade and 7th grade basketball teams secured impressive victories against Pearsall, showcasing their skills and teamwork across multiple games.
8th Grade A-Team
The 8th grade A-Team delivered a commanding 36-20 win, with their defense leading the charge. A relentless full-court press and strong rebounding efforts kept Pearsall at bay. Offensively, the Bulldogs executed sharp cuts and precise passing to maintain control. Brooke Montelongo led the team with 13 points, followed by Blu Rollo with 12. Key defensive contributors included Rehnahta Gomez and Sabrina Verhey, each tallying six steals, while Rollo grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds.
8th Grade B-Team
The 8th grade B-Team edged Pearsall 21-20 for their second victory against them this season, improving their record to 3-2. Emma McClintock led with 10 points, while Jazmine Rhodes dominated the boards with 10 rebounds. Kamilla Vasquez added three blocks and four steals to the effort.
7th Grade A-Team
The 7th grade A-Team secured a 29-15 victory, improving to 3-2 for the season. Brenna Bryd was the top scorer with 16 points, adding a steal and two rebounds. Harper Hicks contributed six points, five steals, and two rebounds. Colbie LaLanne and Vannessa Gonzales were key defensive players, combining for six steals and nine rebounds.
7th Grade B-Team
The 7th grade B-Team cruised to a 28-8 win, bringing their record to 2-3. Aspen Collazo led with 12 points, seven rebounds, and six steals, along with two blocks. Emma Spofford added six points, four rebounds, and three steals. Sally King and Michelle Melton were defensive standouts, each contributing multiple blocks.
The Bulldogs demonstrated teamwork and determination in their victories, continuing to build momentum for the season.
