The League of Women Voters of the Hill Country Texas will hold a meeting Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Community Room of The Good Samaritan Center, 140 Industrial Loop, Fredericksburg.
The event is open to the public, and there is no charge to attend. Seating is limited, and attendees are encouraged to RSVP by emailing [email protected]. A social hour with light refreshments will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by the business meeting and program at 10 a.m. The program, “Running for Office,” will be presented by Tammy Keener, a former Gillespie County attorney and practicing attorney in Fredericksburg. Keener will discuss qualities of successful candidates, key elements of a campaign, steps to running for office, and resources available for state and local elections.
The meeting will also be available via Zoom for those unable to attend in person. Interested individuals can request access by contacting [email protected].
The Good Samaritan Center is a charitable clinic offering medical, dental, and mental health counseling services for low-income families without health insurance. Donations support the center’s mission.
The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that encourages informed and active participation in government. The League does not endorse or oppose candidates. Membership is open to individuals 16 and older, with annual dues required.
