Voting for the annual Bandera County Chamber of Commerce awards closes this Friday, Jan. 24, at 5 p.m., and locals are encouraged to submit their votes to the chamber.
The Bandera County Chamber of Commerce will host its annual awards ceremony on Saturday, Feb. 1 at the Bandera Pioneer River Resort.
The event will recognize individuals and businesses that have made significant contributions to the community.
The ceremony will honor recipients in several categories, including:
• Cowboy Capital Award: Awarded to an individual or group who has made an outstanding contribution to Bandera’s image as the “Cowboy Capital of the World.” This year’s nominees are Riding on Faith Rodeo, Debra Slate, and Andrew & Daniel Almand.
• Citizen(s) of the Year Award: Awarded to an individual or couple who has contributed extraordinary time, effort, and assistance in enhancing the quality of life for citizens of Bandera County. This year’s nominees are Ron Gherman, Scott Kaufman, and Arlene Guerra.
• Business Community Service Award: Awarded to a business that has contributed extraordinary time, effort, and/or financial assistance to enhance the quality of life for citizens of Bandera County. This year’s nominees are Out of the Way Cafe, HYO Silver, and Bandera Electric Cooperative.
• Volunteer of the Year Award
• Director’s Award
• The Wilton Crider Cowboy Preservation Award The awards ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 for members and $15 for non-members. Live music will be provided by Russell Green.
