Gone Quiltin’ LLC of Bandera is participating in the 8th Annual Local Quilt Shop Contest hosted by ByAnnie.
The contest, which runs from Jan. 25 through Feb. 28, invites sewists worldwide to vote for their favorite local quilt shops.
According to a press release from ByAnnie, the annual contest celebrates the vital role quilt shops play in their communities by offering classes, resources, and inspiration to sewists of all levels.
It also supports local economies by showcasing the impact of the sewing industry, which – according to a press release from ByAnnie - generates $35 billion in annual sales through 85 million crafters, including 30 million active sewists.
Last year, more than 2,000 shops from 12 countries competed, with over 50,000 votes cast.
Gone Quiltin’, a previous regional prize winner, is hoping for another strong showing with the support of the Bandera community.
“This contest highlights the importance of local quilt shops as creative hubs and their role in keeping the tradition of sewing alive,” the press release states. Participating shops also have a chance to win prizes that can help them grow and strengthen their connection with customers.
Voting is open online at LQSContest.com/VOTE.
