Frontier Times Museum nominated for Best Small Town Museum

The Frontier Times Museum has been nominated as one of the top 20 contenders in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards for Best Small Town Museum.

Selected by a panel of professional travelers, the museum is recognized for its exceptional ability to showcase the local stories, traditions, and achievements of the Bandera community.

Founded in 1933, the Frontier Times Museum has been preserving and sharing Bandera’s history for over 90 years.

Executive Director Rebecca Norton expressed pride in the nomination and called on the community for support.

“We’re thrilled to be nominated as one of the best small-town museums in the country,” Norton said. “Now we’re asking everyone in Bandera County to help us claim the top spot by voting online. We’re currently ranked #8 of 20, but with your help, we can make it to #1.” Voting is open daily until Monday, Feb. 10, at 11:59 a.m. EST. Votes can be cast at 10best.usatoday. com/awards/travel/ best-small-town-museum-2025/ frontier-times-museum-bandera- texas/ or through links posted on the museum’s Facebook page, as well as the pages of the Bandera County Historical Commission and the Bandera County Visitor and Convention Bureau.

Visitors are also encouraged to stop by the museum to explore its exhibits and receive assistance with voting.

The results will be announced on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at noon EST, when the top 10 winners will be revealed.
