Medina High School honored its senior basketball players and team manager on Friday, Jan. 24, prior to district matchups against Leakey. The seniors recognized were Ahnika Grassie, Hattie Barton, Hallie Kunz, Keyshla Roman-Colon, Nick Lichtenberg, and Charles Baker. Each honoree received a framed jersey poster and a basket of goodies from their teammates to commemorate the occasion. The celebrations were followed by two big victories for Medina. Both games were tightly contested, but the Lady Cats secured a 47-33 win, and the Bobcats followed with a 50-37 victory. Lady Cats Coach Joseph Harlow praised his team’s performance. “It was a really big win for us. The team came together and played well. I’m incredibly proud of this group. The win secures a playoff spot for the first time since 2016. That’s certainly something to be excited about,” Harlow said.
