The Peterson Health Board of Directors is making progress in its search for a new president and CEO following the departure of Cory Edmondson.
A CEO Search Committee, working with an executive search firm, has received applications from several qualified candidates nationwide.
Committee Chair Mary Liz Eastland said the candidates are currently being vetted.
“The Board feels a great responsibility to this organization and community to ensure we take our time to properly screen and find the best possible fit for this position,” Eastland said, along with Board Chairman Tom Houdeshell.
With Edmondson’s last day on Feb. 7, Chief Operating Officer Joe Piszczor has stepped in as interim CEO to ensure continuity in operations.
According to a press release, the board assured the community that Peterson Health’s senior leadership team is well-positioned to manage the transition.
Peterson Health, an independent nonprofit health network, has served the Texas Hill Country since 1949.
The organization operates 19 facilities across nine counties and has received national recognition for quality and safety, including being named a Best Place to Work in Healthcare by Modern Healthcare for four consecutive years.
