TURNS 100 TODAY
Bandera resident Mildred Collier celebrates her centeninial in the Cowboy Capital Today. Born Feb. 19, 1925, to Albert & Helen Jureczki, Collier was the eighth of nine children. She married Eldon Collier in 1942, & the couple traveled the Midwest before settling in Green River, Wyoming, where they founded Northwest Homes & the Iron Horse Saloon. After 39 years of marriage, she lost Eldon to cancer but continued her success as a businesswoman. In 2020, she returned to Bandera to be near family & friends. A luncheon in her honor will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at the Flying L Resort.
