State Rep. Wes Virdell, R-House District 53, has opened a district office in Kerrville at 301 Junction Highway, Suite 254, commonly known as Five Points.
A release from Virdell’s PR contact says the new office, in addition to his Capitol office in Austin, aims to provide greater accessibility for constituents across the district.
Virdell was elected in November 2024 with 76% of the vote, defeating Democrat Joe Herrera and Libertarian Brian Holk.
He replaces outgoing Rep. Andrew Murr, who led the investigation into Attorney General Ken Paxton.
Virdell previously ran against Murr in the 2022 Republican primary but was unsuccessful.
“HD 53 is the second-largest House district in Texas, covering 16 counties and 41 school districts,” Virdell said. “Being readily available to such a large area is a challenge, but this second office will help us make that happen.”
Barbara Ferguson has been appointed District Director for HD 53 and will work from the Kerrville office as well as throughout the district.
Virdell’s Austin-based staff includes Kody Smith, Chief of Staff, and Elliott Parisi, Legislative Director.
