Local artists Denise Van Dyke and Connie Young are exhibiting watercolors, oils, pencil, acrylic, and photography at the Bandera Kronkosky Library.
Their exhibit will run until March 31. Each has displayed ten works in the exhibit.
Connie Young, a retired BISD high school art teacher, has exhibited pictures of subjects from her Bandera County ranch.
She is a long-time artist of nearly 40 years. Her exhibit is composed of several landscapes, an oil of a favorite cow, and an oil of a yucca in bloom. She captures the essence of Bandera through her work.
Denise Van Dyke, also a retired teacher, has been working on her art since moving from the Valley to Bandera, almost 30 years.
She has exhibited several watercolors of tropical plants and clouds. She has included works from her travels in the southwest. Van Dyke’s delicate technique and attention to detail infuse her art with rustic realism.
Young and Van Dyke would like to express “thanks” to the Kronkosky Library for their support of the art class and their willingness to exhibit local artists at the library.
Both artists are members of the Kronkosky Library’s watercolor class that meets weekly on Monday at 10 a.m. in the downstairs community room.
