11th Street Cowboy Bar is playing host for yet another big event for Bandera: The Kin Faux band are taking over the stage on Saturday, March 15th.
The four-member band have made a name for themselves by playing extensively throughout the Midwest, opening shows for big names like Luke Bryan and Trace Adkins.
Their radio singles, “Teardrops on the Rocks” and “Honky Tonk in Heaven” both scored #1 singles on Texas charts.
The band, which is based out of San Antonio, Texas, came together with the shared passion for Texas Red Dirt music, using musical inspiration from Randy Rogers, Kevin Fowler, and Turnpike Troubadours.
The band is composed of lead singer Rico Gonzalez, guitarist Jakey Black, drummer Avery Castro, and Adam Carrillo on bass.
Their passion and hard work have paid off – the band has received “a slew of Texas Country Music Association awards”, including winning the Entertainer of the Year award in 2023.
After headlining Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth Texas – a show that nearly sold out – their success has brought the possibility of a European tour in the near future.
In addition to using inspiration from legendary country artists, the band uses their personal experiences of growing up in the crumbling auto plants of Michigan, “echoing the desperation of places like Kentucky coal mines and other pockets of traditional American folklore where the livelihood of entire communities was swept out from underneath them.
This upbringing and experience bring a unique character to their brand of music that has been dubbed “Industrial Dirt” by some [press release provided by Brandy Reed].”
The band recorded their debut album in 2018 at Mainframe Studios in Nashville with producer Bobby Randall. The album, labeled EP, received rave reviews from radio stations and critics.
So, mark your calendars for Saturday, March 15th! Doors open at 6PM. Tickets are $15 each, but you can reserve a table for $40. There is also the availability of VIP seating.
