Seventeen months of business as the sole Trump Store in the greater Texas area has been good to store founder Wyatt Forster.
Located on Hwy 16 just inside the city limites, the Trump Store sees customers from all over the country – and even from overseas. As to what inspired Forster to open such a unique store, he stated that he always wanted to go into retail.
“And I wanted to get into politics without really getting into politics,” Forster said. “I saw an article about a man in Virginia with a Trump store and that got our [my wife] attention.”
Forster’s Bandera store is not his only one; his first Trump store has been running in Tombstone Arizona for three years.
Both stores have a wide selection of collectibles; from bobble heads to flotation devices, to fuzzy socks – even saltshakers, the store has no shortage of choices.
Of his items, Forster says that the most popular are his caps, flags, and coffee mugs.
The manager at the Bandera store stated that their newest flag, showcasing President Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and Secretary of Health and Human Services RFK labeled as “The Dream Team” has been a hot seller.
Pro-Second Amendment shirts and a George Washington T-shirt with the quote “me and my homies woulda been stacking bodies by now” have also proven to be popular with customers.
Sales typically spike for the store when a major event surrounding Trump occurs.
“When Trump was shot at, it was like a hornet’s nest. We had record sales at both stores,” said Forster.
When asked why he chose Trump to support in his bought of retail, Forster expresses his strong support for the president.
“This country has never been so polarized in the last eight years, and it’s not going to change anytime soon. I think most Americans are wanting real change and reform. We’re tired of the waste and the ever-expanding government.”
For those wanting to stop by and show their support, stop by at 670 St. Highway 16 S.
The store isn’t easy to miss – a poster of Trump carrying a rifle (a reworked image of Kurt Russel in the film Tombstone) sits between two large banners of “Trump” and “Store”.
