At 82 years old, Larry Jollisant is setting out on a journey that embodies the cowboy spirit— one defined by resilience, tradition, and a desire to give back.

Traveling in a restored 1899 Lindsey 8-wheel log wagon pulled by four mare mules, Jollisant is making a 350-mile trek from Plantersville, Texas, to Bandera, embracing the hardships and classic traditions of the Old West while raising funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Jollisant, whose life has been shaped by the rhythms of ranch life and the simplicity of the cowboy lifestyle, began his ride on March 3.

Over the course of 30 days, he will endure the elements, cook over a campfire, and sleep under the stars, just as cowboys did more than a century ago.

His journey is more than a tribute to history—it’s a mission to raise $1 million for children battling life-threatening illnesses.

Despite facing his own health struggles, Jollisant remains committed to completing the trip.

His ride serves as both a farewell to a way of life and a legacy of compassion, proving that the cowboy spirit is not just about endurance, but about making a difference.
