Shoppers, get ready! Kerr County Market Days and Hill Country Swap Meet returns on Saturday, April 5th, offering another exciting day of well-priced new and not-so-new items. “Shoppers look forward to our spring markets to find treasures from a variety of handcrafted Texas items to an ever-changing variety of garage-sale type items,” says LuAnn Anderson, show producer.
This month’s vendor lineup will feature beautifully handcrafted wood items such as cutting boards, decorative crosses, and coasters, as well as jewelry made from semi-precious stones, beads, and other decorative materials. Shoppers can also choose from an array of handcrafted quilts, crocheted goods, hand-sewn aprons, redecorated shirts, blankets, and pet toys. Texas-made creations, including paper craft cards and journals, handcrafted pens, original artwork, stained glass, bird feeders, and resin products, will also be on offer.
On the Swap Meet side, discover a treasure trove of antiques and collectibles including knives, tools, records, CDs, books, vintage movie memorabilia, clothing, and household items. Local non-profit organizations, such as AWS Freeman-Fritts, Kerrville Pets Alive!, Cancer Support Group, and the Center Point American Legion Auxiliary, will also be present to showcase their latest programs and activities.
No shopping trip is complete without a bite to eat, and Buzzie’s Bar-B-Q will serve their award-winning brisket and sandwiches just outside the entrance. Other food vendors will offer a variety of tasty options, including hot dogs, hamburgers, kettle corn, baked goods, and ice cream.
The event runs from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Hill Country Youth Event Center, located at 3785 Hwy. 27, Kerrville, TX. Admission is free, and there’s plenty of free parking. Leashed pets are welcome.
