Mercy Gate Ministries expands services with new Bandera office

Mercy Gate Ministries, a direct service provider for survivors of sex trafficking, sexual exploitation and sexual trauma, is expanding its outreach with a new office in Bandera.

The organization’s signature program, The Journey, is a 12- to 18-month faith-based restoration program designed to address the multifaceted needs of trauma survivors. Services include case management, courtroom advocacy, counseling, art and equine therapies and life skills training.

Participants in The Journey can choose between a residential or nonresidential option. The Haven provides a safe home environment for residential participants, while the nonresidential program offers the same resources with the flexibility to maintain employment and independent living.

Mercy Gate Ministries does not charge fees for its services. The new Bandera office, located at 1401 Sycamore Street, will begin hosting weekly classes on Wednesdays starting March 26. These sessions will focus on fellowship, healthy boundaries, and codependency.

Free counseling, mentorship, courtroom advocacy, and therapy services will also be available.

Mercy Gate Ministries serves women in Kerr, Kendall, Bandera, Gillespie, and Kimble counties.

Referrals can be made through the legal system, law enforcement, partner organizations, or self-referral. To apply or learn more, call 830-367-3285 or visit the organization’s website.

A ribbon-cutting and Keys to Freedom event is set for Monday, April 7, to mark the expansion into Bandera.

The event will feature live music by Dennis Alan, appetizers by Brick’s River Café, and a 50/50 raffle to benefit Mercy Gate Ministries’ mission.
