KERRVILLE – The Hill Country Breast Cancer Support Group will host a special presentation titled It Can Happen to You: What to Know About Male Breast Cancer on Wednesday, April 16, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Phoenix Wellness Center, 124 Blue Ridge W., Suite 206.
The speaker, Kerrville resident Ronnie Pace, is a two-time breast cancer survivor and advocate. His presentation will address risk factors, symptoms, treatment options, and steps for lowering risk—for both men and women.
“This is an important conversation not just for men, but for anyone concerned about the increasing incidence of breast cancer,” organizers said.
Pace serves on the board of directors for The Rose, a nonprofit breast diagnostic center in Houston that provides services to individuals with or without insurance.
The organization also operates a mobile mammography unit that travels across 40 counties. He previously participated in the MD Anderson Survivorship Conference and served on the Department of Defense Breast Cancer Research Panel, which oversees $170 million in annual funding for research.
Following the presentation, Phoenix Wellness Center owner Wende Jones will offer free, private fitness assessments and gym access to attendees.
Light refreshments will be served. The event is free and open to the public.
Space is limited; RSVP by calling 281-660-1708.
