A 34-year-old Wharton’s Dock woman charged with solicitation of murder and drug possession is behind bars in the Bandera County Jail on bonds totaling $625,000.
Sulayma Garibay was arrested at a residence in the 200 block of Lakeshore Lane on April 1, according to officials.
An evidentiary search warrant was served on the property where the arrest occurred April 3, according to records filed with the District Clerk’s Office.
Sheriff Josh Teitge offered a few details about the search in a Facebook post March 4 that also included photos of evidence seized by law officers.
“While conducting the follow-on search warrant, deputies seized 27 grams liquid methamphetamine, 3 grams crystal methamphetamine and firearms. The following charges were filed on the arrested individual: solicitation of murder, possession of controlled substance [...] and manufacture/ delivery of controlled substance.”
Teitge, who just started his first term as sheriff, also noted, “Outstanding work by your Bandera County Sheriff’s Office. We will not tolerate victimization of our great citizens and will continue to strike hard against the criminal element in our county.”
As of press time, Garibay had not posted bond and requested a court-appointed attorney.
Court records indicate previous arrests on two different warrants originating in Medina County regarding allegations of drug possession and pre-trial violations.
