Tourism week approaches

The Bandera County Convention and Visitors Bureau will host a community reception and Wine Share event on Thursday, May 8, from 5 to 7 p.m. in celebration of National Travel and Tourism Week, which runs May 4–10.

The free event will take place behind the Bandera Visitors Center at 126 State Highway 16 South and is open to the public.

National Travel and Tourism Week is an annual initiative that highlights the travel industry’s role in supporting economic development, creating jobs and building community pride. Bandera, known as the Cowboy Capital of the World, will mark the occasion with an evening of live music, light refreshments, and Western hospitality.

“We’re excited to host this gathering as a way to say thank you to our community and visitors,” said Patricia Moore, executive director of the Bandera CVB. “Tourism is not just about economic impact— it’s about celebrating our heritage, our people and the spirit that makes Bandera truly special.”

Attendees are encouraged to bring a bottle of wine to share with fellow guests. Local residents, business owners and visitors alike are invited to raise a glass in honor of the travel industry’s contributions to the region.
