The Bandera County Sheriff’s Office honored its emergency dispatchers during a dinner and award ceremony last Friday night, recognizing team members for their dedication, professionalism and life-saving efforts over the past year.
According to an April 18 post on the office’s Facebook page, the event celebrated dispatchers nominated by their coworkers, members of the community and another sheriff’s office.
“This dinner and award ceremony recognized Bandera County Dispatchers for their effort and work,” the post stated. “Round of applause for the Dispatch team!”
Among those honored were Robert Latiolait, who received the “Dispatcher of the Year: Medical” award; Miranda Bravo, named “Dispatcher of the Year: Police”; and Jim Kyle, who received both the “Dispatcher of the Year: Fire” and “Dispatch Team of the Year” awards.
Angel Evans also received two awards — “Dispatch Team of the Year” and “Life Saving” — while Penny Persson was recognized for “Customer Service” and “Critical Incident” response. Amy Graham received the “Critical Incident of the Year” and “Guiding Light” awards.
Other award recipients included Chelan Reavis (“Above and Beyond”), Reagan Smith (“Compassionate Responder”), Amy Searcy (“Team of the Year”), Ashley Gutierrez (“Rookie of the Year”), and Madeline Butler (“Courage”).
The Sheriff’s Office also thanked Fire Marshal Rutherford and his wife for attending the ceremony and presenting the awards, as well as the Bandera County community for its continued support.
“We take pride in serving the citizens every day,” the post stated. “Most importantly, we as Dispatchers collectively, would like to thank Supervisor Amber Chupp for being our strong leader… the heart of Dispatch. We are ‘us’ because of you.”
