The internationally acclaimed vocal group, The Swingles, will be bringing their signature a cappella sound to the stage at Champion Auditorium when they open Boerne Performing Arts’ twelfth season on Jan. 27.
Known for their trademark vocal dexterity and genre-blending arrangements, The Swingles will deliver an unforgettable evening of jazz, classical, folk and pop music.
With an ever-growing repertoire of innovative interpretations as well as new, original compositions, this 5-time Grammy Award-winning ensemble, comprised of seven extraordinarily talented vocalists, has mastered the art of using their voices not only to seamlessly blend melody with multiple harmonies, but also use their voices to create underlying musical rhythms and foundations without the presence of accompanying musical instruments.
Prepare to experience an immersive world with musical sleight of hand and witness firsthand the magic that this Grammy-winning a cappella group creates on stage.
Alongside their goal to sing great music at the highest level for the enjoyment of others, The Swingles have a keen sense of social responsibility which they put into practice by devoting a large part of each year to work in education around the world, bringing their technical skills in the vocal arts together with stagecraft, improvisation, genre versatility, songwriting and arranging.
Similarly committed to encouraging and developing the next generation of performing artists, Boerne Performing Arts will be promoting the work of local students with a performance by Champion High School Jazz Ensemble in the lobby before the show and at intermission.
Visual art from BISD students will be displayed and the orchestra program boosters will provide concessions that evening.
