Bandera’s Cowgirl Roundup was and is created and produced by Leanne and Jeanne Beauxbeannes and Ms Carey Reed.
New Years Day 2024 was the 24th anniversary of the first roundup of Bandera’s Cowgirls at Mansfield Park.
It was the turn-of-the-century celebration, and that panoramic photo is framed and hanging in the frontier times Museum.
It seemed to us that the Cowboy Capital was just loaded with cowgirls on horseback, and we wanted to prove that and honor them.
The second gathering of Cowgirl Roundup was held in honor of Bandera’s Sesquicentennial in 2003.
The 3rd-13th Cowgirl Roundup also became a showdeo and was held in the arena at the Hill Country State Natural Area.
In 2018, we had one year at the city park and every year after at Mansfield.
Many of the cowgirls in all these pictures have pass on to those greener pastures in the sky. Many of their beloved horse have followed or preceded them to the end of the trail.
These pictures are a precious record of cowgirl friendship, the cowgirl spirit and our love of these fabulous horses.
