RE: JODIE SINCLAIR COLUMN

What a courageous group of Marines at Tarawa. Willing to give everything to keep Americans free and end the war. It instills deep appreciation and deep sadness at the same time. I’m sure it was a difficult thing to film. You warn in your letter to the editor, that the enemy we face is now from within in the person of Donald Trump. I am a bit amazed by your foreknowledge of Trumps agenda. Authoritarian rule through the Executive branch, neutralizing the power of the Supreme Court and Congress, essentially disrupting our checks and balances? Or has that been happening or attempted already? I agree, it is time to honor those young men by doing our job.

What do you think has been going on in this country for the last three years?

You’ve already alluded to it. Executive order is a handy thing if used to further the agenda of freedom when Congress refuses to act. It is not when it’s used to dismantle our immigration laws or disrupt our access to oil and the list goes on. How about packing the Supreme Court so it is designed to rule only as the Executive branch intends? It appears as if Congress is consistently absent and only half of it has any power when it functions. How about outright lies about Russia intent on undermining the previous presidency? The media bias affecting elections. Foreign policy in shambles.

Perceived weakness abroad, etc etc. What about the polls representing what the We The People want or are they secondary to the paranoia you and others feel about Trump’s intentions of which you may know little? Past behavior is generally acknowledged as predictive of future behavior. We had four good years with Trump, by any measure. Energy independence, good foreign relations, no war, a secure border - no eight million invading our country, low unemployment, low inflation, no embarrassing withdrawals, peace through strength and the nation’s policies were not for sale. DJT was no dictator.

I understand your concerns considering mass media’s presentation but if you understand they are a tool of the democrat party you might find that other sources present a different story. Perhaps Ron DeSantis is more to your tastes. He seems to be an effective leader. Vote for him. Perhaps he’ll win but most pollsters disagree. I suppose we’ll find out. Whatever the outcome, I do not believe the American people are unintelligent and I believe they know what their candidates are about. Let’s all pray we end up with the candidate who does the best job for all of us! We are all due some peace and prosperity.
