The 2023 annual Bandera County Junior Livestock show drew crowds of parents and visitors to watch local youth exhibit project animals that they had been working on for the last year.
Bandera County’s show is one of the first in the season and took place at the Mansfield Park Show Barn on Jan. 11,12 and 13.
The show drew competitors from the surrounding area to display their FFA or 4H projects.
The judging was fierce, and the competitors were intent on learning all they could from the judges.
Chairman Kevin Meier, Vice Chairman and Treasurer Jim Mangold, Secretary Raegan Mazurek and Show Secretary Penny Smith worked hard to put together a smooth-running show.
Bandera County Agent for Family and Community Health Jessica Faubion remarked that the show was “running great” as she watched the steer competition intently.
Kytlin Peterson was presented a plaque from BEC to honor her for being the Senior High Point Individual.
Junior High Point Individual was Bryleigh Stubblefield.
The M R Sandidge Courtesy Award went to Kimber Jurezcki and Porter Smith.
The Masonic Lodge Award went to Beckett.
The Hubert Mazurek Award went to Kytlin Peterson.
Lauren Meier was presented with a belt buckle for the Lee Turner Award.
The Alton Reininger Memorial Award went to the Eastern Star.
Lauren Meier was also presented with a belt buckle for the Larry Bausch Award.
