The public is invited to attend a talk sponsored by the Hill Country Chapter, Texas Master Naturalists in Kerrville on Jan. 22 at 7:10 p.m.
The talk will be presented by archaeologists Wade and Colleen Parsons and will focus on field archaeology for non-specialists, including legal and ethical considerations.
During their 30+ year careers the Parsons have worked predominantly for federal land management agencies, covering a variety of cultural regions and natural environments across 12 western States.
They have recorded over 1,000 sites for historic preservation!
They believe that educating the public about non-renewable cultural resources is one of the most important responsibilities of their profession.
They both received their Masters from Wichita State University.
There is no charge to attend. The talk will be held at the Guadalupe Basin Natural Resources Center, 125 Lehmann Drive, Suite 100 in Kerrville.

Starting at 6:00 the Parsons will be available to evaluate pre-historic artifacts that attendees wish to bring.
Light refreshments will also be served.
Starting at 6:30 the Chapter will hold its monthly business meeting. The Parsons’ presentation will begin at 7:10.
The Texas Master Naturalists are a volunteer organization sponsored by Texas Parks and Wildlife and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension.
