In an exciting development for our local community, Mark Miller has officially declared his candidacy for the Republican County Chair position in Bandera County. A fifteen-year resident of Lakehills, Texas, Mark brings with him a wealth of experience and a passion for serving the Bandera County community.
Mark Miller grew up in a small farming community. During his childhood, he was an active participant in various sports, was a boy scout, and worked on his family’s farm. After graduation Mark joined the United States Navy. His first tour was served in the Tonkin Gulf on the USS Bennington aircraft carrier {CVS-20} and his second tour was in-country in Vietnam.
Miller's professional journey spans over two decades at Ford Motor Company, where he served as an Automation Engineer. During his tenure, Mark played a pivotal role in designing and implementing multimillion-dollar control systems for automated equipment. His expertise extended to managing contractor groups, overseeing equipment installations, and collaborating with budgeting teams to create comprehensive financial plans for control systems.
Not only did Mark excel in his professional endeavors, but he also pursued academic achievements. He earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from McKendree University and a master's degree in science from Eastern Kentucky University, highlighting his dedication to continuous learning and professional growth. After a distinguished career at Ford Motor Company, Mark retired in 2007. Subsequently, he found a new chapter in his life when he visited Texas at the invitation of his brother.
Four years after the passing of his first wife in 2005, Mark met and married his wife, Brenda, a twenty-three-year Bandera County resident and a native Texan. Their union took place in the Fall of 2010 at The Farm in Bandera, and Mark discovered a profound connection to the Texas hill country, particularly Bandera County. Mark's admiration for the area, its scenic beauty, and the warmth of its residents inspired him to make it his permanent home. He currently resides in Lakehills, near Medina Lake, with Brenda and her special needs brother.
His dedication to family and community shines through in every aspect of his life. As Mark takes a step into the political arena, his commitment to Bandera County becomes even more apparent. His vision for the future is rooted in a desire to enhance the quality of life for all residents and to contribute to the prosperity of the community he now calls home. Residents are encouraged to get to know Mark and his vision for the Republican Party in Bandera County. Mark's candidacy brings a unique blend of professional experience, academic achievement, and a genuine love for the local community.
“Embracing my Republican values since the age of twenty-one, I've felt a growing concern over the state of our country in recent years. Witnessing what I believe to be a disregard for American lives, and our core values, I could not stand idly by. As a devoted Christian, I sought guidance from God to identify where I could make a meaningful impact. After participating in a handful of GOP gatherings in Bandera County and hearing complaints from voters, it became evident to me just how uneasy the public is under the current leadership. Numerous individuals have expressed their relief at my candidacy, emphasizing the urgent need for a shift. My top priority is to build relationships in the Republican party and to increase voter registration and turnout in Bandera County, with the aim of restoring integrity to the Republican party. As a principled individual with a commitment to family values, I believe in keeping my promises. My actions are guided by honesty, and I prioritize prayer for guidance in all that I do.”
Mark's vision for the Bandera County Republican Party is one where everyone can thrive. He believes that by working together we can build a stronger and more prosperous community. Mark is committed to bringing Republicans together to find common ground and work towards a brighter future for the party. Mark's approach to leadership is one of collaboration and inclusiveness. He believes that by listening to all voices and working together, we can achieve important things. Mark is committed to being a Republican County Chair who is accessible and accountable to you.
“As a candidate for the Republican County Chair, I am aware that our executive committee is currently experiencing a divide among its members. One group of members continues to support my opponent who was removed from office due to illegal improprieties. He is known to rule by intimidation and spends his time and focus on Austin instead of Bandera County. He claims to accomplish everything on his own.
The second group is ready for change, and they want honest leadership that will put Bandera first and focus on the duties of the County Chair. These elected committee members want to be included in the works of the executive committee. They want someone to bring the party together to restore integrity in the party. They claim Bandera County has become the laughingstock of the Republican Party. While state issues are important, if the roots of the tree aren’t healthy, the tree will die. Bandera County members are the roots. If elected, I will follow the law, and focus on the problems we are now facing in Bandera County. I will put Bandera County residents first!”
The primary election on March 5th is a pivotal turning point for the Republican Party in Bandera County. We must all work together, attend the polls, and cast our votes for the good of our community. We must put aside our differences and remember that we will be voting for candidates who will make up the leadership of our county, state, and country. It’s time to take control of the Republican Party’s future and steer it towards a path of unity and growth.
In preparation for the upcoming election, it is important to be an informed voter. One way to do this is to visit the websites of each candidate and read their motives for running for office. Additionally, attending an event in the county to meet the candidates. This will provide you with valuable insight into their characters and values. Encouraging your friends and neighbors to vote is a great way to make a difference. Early voting starts February 20th and ends March 1st, so there is still time to register. Remember, we all have the obligation to make our county, state, and country the best it can be. Our legal rights are being eliminated by legislators every day. There are few legal rights left, so it is important to exercise your right to vote! I am asking for your support and vote in the upcoming election.
“I am committed to overseeing the Bandera County Republican Party, ensuring fair elections that align with the current laws. As the leader of the Republican Executive Committee, I will prioritize an organized and inclusive approach, free from intimidation, fostering an environment where everyone feels empowered to express their ideas. I extend an open invitation to all Precinct Chairs, encouraging active participation in the diverse aspects of the Republican Party's affairs and activities. I will encourage Precinct Chairs to reach out to their constituents building relationships to foster attendance at the Bandera County Republican meets. Residents will be encouraged to attend local GOP meetings and participate by volunteering for our committees and community events. It will be we, not I. One person cannot accomplish much without help. It is time to reclaim control of the Republican Party in Bandera County returning to the fundamental principles envisioned by our Founding Fathers. Let's rediscover the essence of our party and ensure its integrity for generations to come.' I Am Asking for Your Vote!
