I am delighted to announce my candidacy for the position of Lakehills Precinct 204 Chair. My name is Shirley Grohman, and I am wholeheartedly dedicated to serving our community.
Opportunities to Serve the Republican Party and Promote Conservative Values: In 2021, I began attending the Bandera County Republican Party meetings and had the honor of serving on the Bandera County Executive Committee’s Election Integrity Committee. During my tenure, I implemented crucial changes on the GOP website to enhance user experience. The upgrades included creating a blog and one-click call links for easy communication with congressmen via mobile devices, along with other essential updates for the Election Integrity Committee.
In 2022, the Election Integrity Committee evolved into the conservative organization, Lone Star Truth Initiative. Leveraging my skills, I developed the website Lone Star Truth Initiative and a blog. The focus remains on Election Integrity, while also informing and educating subscribers about national, state, and local politics.
That same year, I was appointed to the Early Voting Ballot Board for the May elections. My commitment to fair and transparent elections led me to become a state-certified Poll Watcher. During the November 2022 election, I diligently fulfilled my duties as a Poll Watcher through Protect the Vote, an organization under the Republican Party of Texas.
(Visit sgrohmanpct204. com/qualifications for a complete list of volunteer or advocacy opportunities) Background and Experience: During my formative years, I actively participated in church basketball and softball throughout junior and senior high years. Growing up next to the church, I was an engaged member of the church youth group.
I devoted 33 years of service to AT&T, balancing my professional responsibilities with raising three children, involving them in sports and other activities. My career concluded in the role of a Senter IT Project Manager within AT&T Corp. In this capacity, I led a corporate-wide initiative, overseeing four application development teams in creating a new CRM application. My work adhered strictly to AT&T’s internal software development lifecycle tracking system. For a complete employment history, please visit my website: www.sgrohmanpct204.com/ qualifications.
In 2012, I ventured into entrepreneurship as a small business owner, organizing and instruction mobile patin parties for groups ranging from 10 to 100 participants.
Community Involvement: Eight years ago, I relocated to Lakehills, swiftly immersing myself in the community. I volunteered to help maintain our subdivision’s lake park, ensuring its cleanliness and coordinating community efforts, as needed.
Since 2017, I have devoted my time to the Lakehills Community Center during the annual Cajun Festival. Connecting with neighbors has been enjoyable.
As a community-minded individual, I played a pivotal role in founding the Lakeside Property Owners Association (POA). Since its inception in late 2019, I have served as the Secretary, diligently working to preserve our lakefront property for the enjoyment of all residents. Additionally, I have temporarily stepped into the vacant treasury position until a new treasurer can be identified.
My Motivation for Running: A Commitment to Transparency and Accountability Since March 1st, 2022, pivotal events have shaped my decision to seek the role of Precinct 204 Chair. Allow me to shed light on these crucial moments: The news has been full of the actions taken by the former County Party Chair, which in my opinion have caused our local party to suffer. His actions have resulted in a felony indictment against him and at least one other charge.
The former County Chair admitted the charges in the felony indictment and pled no contest to the charge. He was placed on deferred adjudication probation and ordered to immediately vacate his position as County Chair.
It is disturbing to me that he has chosen to run for County Chair. In my heart, I cannot sit aside and do nothing while he, with support of individuals, some of whom have criminal records, attempt to put him into a position of leadership. Bandera County deserves better leadership.
My Commitment: In light of these events. I am running for Precinct 204 Chair. My primary goal is to restore integrity to the Bandera County Executive Committee and engage our committee to ensure the integrity of elections in Precinct 204.
Let us work together to ensure transparency, accountability, and a stronger community. I continue to draw strength from others who believe in this mission and through our Lord and Savior.
Without belief in and implementation of the Holy Word, the Rule of Law, and the US Constitution as our guiding principles, our word has little merit. Two mottos that I also live by are: 1. Absence of the Truth is a Lie 2. Light is the Best Form of Disinfectant I sincerely thank everyone who endorsed me and continue to provide much-needed encouragement on my path. I look forward to contributing to the betterment of our community and earning your vote!
