Bandera won the game, 47-43, to take fourth place in District 27-4A and advance to the playoffs.

The Bulldogs held the lead for much of the game until the Hawks tied it up in the fourth quarter, even taking a slight edge. But the Bulldogs mustered the defense and points down the line to eventually win the contest.

Junior Elijah Salas’ went six for nine from the 3-point line and lead the Bulldogs in scoring with 20 total points.

The Bulldogs (18-15 overall, 6-7 District 27-4A) drew La Vernia (30-1 overall, 11-1 District 28-4A) in the first round of the playoffs. The teams played Monday, Feb. 19, at Harlan High School in San Antonio.
