On Dec. 31, of 2023, I finished the 11th year of having the privilege and responsibility of being your County Attorney. I am again running for County Attorney, and seek your vote in the primary election scheduled for March 5, 2024 and in the general election scheduled for Nov. 5, 2024.
As I said when I first “dove” into the race to be your County Attorney, I did it because I feel that Bandera County is full of decent people who deserve premier service from their public officials. I have embraced the opportunity to provide that service. At times it has been challenging, but I remind myself of my commitment, and this moves me forward. From the beginning of my first term as your County Attorney, one of my goals has been to handle all cases evenly and fairly, and not based upon the identity of the accused.
For those of you who do not know me, I was 11 months old when my parents moved to Bandera. I attended Bandera ISD for grades 1 through 12 and graduated Salutatorian. I attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with honors. I was licensed to practice law in Texas in May of 1982. I practiced civil litigation in Houston for almost thirty years with my last court case being concluded in early 2011. In June of 2008 (while still maintaining a practice in Houston) I began my move back to Bandera to live the rest of my life in Bandera County.
Because of my experience in Houston, I have been able to handle legal responsibilities for the County that are very different from my primary responsibilities of handling misdemeanor charges and appropriate juvenile cases. Expanding my responsibilities is one “small” thing that I can do to try to help the County save resources.
Life in Bandera County helped make me the person I am. My goal has been, and is, to do everything I can to show my appreciation for this by providing preeminent service as your County Attorney. Thank you for your consideration.
