During the Bandera County Commissioners’ Court on Feb. 8, the court voted unanimously to approve entering into a $59,000 agreement with Mission Critical Partners for consultation of acquiring a contractor and provide support for the County’s radio system improvement.
Per Emergency Management Coordinator Judy Lefevers, MCP will put together RFPs and assist the county to find a contractor, putting the county in a position to negotiate.
In December of 2023, MCP completed their initial contract with the county when they presented their master plan to upgrade the radio system.
Lefevers said this new contract will move them into the next phase.
In a separate but related court agenda item County Auditor Darryl Sadler reminded the commissioners that the court approved $100,000 from the Covid Recovery Fund on March 23, 2023, to be used towards the radio assessment project.
That project used $39,126 of the $100,000, leaving a balance of $60,874.
Per Sadler, EMS requested the reallocation of previously approved funding from assessment to acquisition to cover the new agreement with MCP.
In other business, a Memorandum of Understanding between Keep Texas Beautiful and Bandera County to accept a grant of $5,000 from the H.E.B Community Recycling Grant Program was approved by the court.
Commissioner Jody Rutherford said that the grant will be used to repair the balers at the Mansfield Recycling Center in Bandera.
The commissioners approved the action to issue requests for competitive sealed proposals to stabilize the Patterson Street bridge in Medina. According to Commissioner Jack Moseley, the creek has swelled with the recent heavy rains, and it is imperative they move quickly on this.
The commissioners also voted once more to postpone the review of the proposed Rules & Agreement for use of the courthouse lawn so that the coverage of required liability be specified and to examine variances on large animals.
A donation of $1,214.55 from the law office of Henry Gates Steen, Jr., P.C. was accepted by the Court. Sadler told the court the donation is to cover the meat cost for the county employee holiday party.
