Bandera Library Happenings

Howdy to All!

Libraries need Friends — it’s just that straightforward. Indeed, across America many public libraries were started through the efforts of community members who appreciated the value of libraries to their communities.

In turn, they also understood that libraries needed community support to thrive. The Bandera Kronkosky Public Library is no exception.

Did you know that the Friends of the Library provide funding for our library collection? Yep, most of those new books you see on the library displays are purchased with funds generously donated by the Friends.

Friends also help out the library by volunteering, particularly during special library programs.

So, if you would like to support your local library, then contact the Friends of the Library and get started today! https://banderalibrary.org/friends.

Of course, March is a special time in Texas and we have much to be thankful for. Not only are the Bluebonnets blooming, but so is this great state that was founded on March 2, 1836.

In celebration of this seminal event the Bandera Library will be hosting the Daughters of the Republic of Texas for a special storytime on March 14 at 10:30 a.m.

So, bring those little ones out for an educational and fun-filled time. Also, don’t miss the Bandera Gardening Club program on March 12 at 10 a.m.

Spring is upon us yet again and these folks always have informative and interesting programs.

Until next time, happy reading!
