On Feb. 22, the Bandera County Commissioners entered into a contract with Diamond Drugs, Inc. to provide prescription dispensing services, pharmacy benefit management services, software services and medical supplies for the Bandera County Jail’s correctional patients.

Per the agreement, Diamond will also furnish all qualified personnel, equipment materials, and services that the jail requires to ensure compliance with state and federal law.

Diamond will dispense medications to the residents with scheduled deliveries during normal business hours.

When an emergency occurs, they will provide emergency deliveries 24 hours per day, seven days a week.

Following the wholesale acquisition cost at the time of dispensing as updated by Medi-Span, Diamond’s prescription and stock pieces will be billed as follows:

• Brand name and single source prescription medications equals WAC less 2% plus a $10 dispensing fee.

• Generic multi-source prescription medications equals WAC less 3.5% plus a $10 dispensing fee.

• Since WAC is a published rate, it may fluctuate, yet, Diamond’s proposed discount will remain fixed throughout the term of the contract. Diamond, which is dba Diamond Pharmacy Services, and/or Diamond Medical Supply, is a Pennsylvania Corporation having principal offices at 645 Kolter Dr., Indiana, PA.
