The Board of Directors of the Arthur Nagel Community Clinic recently announced a “rare and extraordinary” raffle opportunity as part of the special 10th anniversary presentation of its Cork & Fork dinner and fundraiser for 2024.
Jastra Enterprises, a longtime major supporter of Cork & Fork, has donated to the clinic an expertly restored and preserved 1927 Model A Ford Tudor Hardtop with three-speed manual transmission reaching speeds up to 65 miles per hour.
To support the no-cost health care mission of clinic, raffle tickets are available for purchase now for $100 each.
Only 500 tickets will be sold. You need not be present to win.
Nagel’s board also announced the selection of honky-tonk legends Arkey Blue and James McGroarty as Hometown Hero honorees at Cork & Fork in gratitude for their “incalculable boost to Bandera’s economy, musical heritage, and notoriety as a center of Texas-style, spirited nightlife.”
“We are expecting friends from near and far to come out and help us honor Arkey and James,” said Lloyd Norris, president of the Nagel Clinic’s Board. “Having this rare and extraordinary raffle of the beautiful Model A Ford is a once-in-a-lifetime deal. You can enjoy a terrific night of food and fun with your neighbors, and maybe take home a classic automobile.”
The theme of this year’s Cork & Fork is taken from Hank Williams’ immortal song, “We’ll Go Honky-Tonkin’.”
Weldon Henson & Band return as musical guests for a memorable night of live and silent auctions, catering by Backyard Bistro, a stirring salute to our veterans, and transforming lives through support of the clinic’s award-winning mission and programs.
Cork & Fork is Saturday, Nov. 9.
