High-octane vehicles revved alongside therapy horses as enthusiasts gathered for the 2024 4th Annual “Horses & Horsepower” car show and fundraiser, a flagship event benefiting Triple H Equitherapy.
Hosted at Brutal Off Road in Bandera, the show attracted a diverse crowd, including members from the Alamo Area Corvette Club of San Antonio and dedicated volunteers from Triple H Equitherapy.
“This event has grown significantly since its inception,” remarked Ginger Eways, Executive Director of Triple H Equitherapy. “What started as a simple idea has blossomed into a major fundraiser.”
Eways credited the show’s success to the unwavering support of the community, noting, “We’re grateful for the massive support from Brutal Off-Road, the Alamo Area Corvette Club, and local businesses.”
Echoing Eways’ sentiments, Tim Allums, President of the Alamo Area Corvette Club, expressed pride in supporting Triple H Equitherapy for the fourth consecutive year. “We’re thrilled to be part of this event,” Allums said. “It’s a testament to our commitment to giving back to the community.”
The event featured nearly two hundred vehicles spanning generations of automobile manufacturing. “From classic Model A Fords to sleek Rolls Royces, there’s something for every car enthusiast,” remarked Anne Nolen, a dedicated volunteer at Triple H Equitherapy.
Among the attendees were special volunteers like 13-year-old therapy horse “Gema” and her owner, Anne Nolen. “Gema has been providing therapy her entire life,” Nolen proudly stated. “It’s heartwarming to see the impact our program has.”
In addition to showcasing automobiles, the event served as a platform to raise awareness about Triple H Equitherapy’s mission.
“Our programs cater to special needs clients, offering them life skills and therapeutic benefits,” explained Eways. “From academic enrichment to equine-facilitated psychotherapy, we aim to make a positive difference.”
Local organizations like Bandera Post #157 of the American Legion and the Bandera Bulldogs Band lent their support to the event.
“It’s inspiring to see the community come together for such a worthy cause,” remarked a representative from the Bandera Bulldogs Band.
Reflecting on the event’s success, Eways expressed gratitude to all who contributed. “Every donation, every volunteer, every car here today plays a vital role in supporting our mission,” she emphasized.
