At the March 28 Bandera County Commissioners’ Court regular meeting, the court and Wayne Gondeck of DRG Architects opened the sealed estimates of five construction contractors bidding on the project to build a new county annex building.
The building is slated to be erected at the corner of 12th Street and Cedar Street.
Out of 12 potential contractor bidders required to meet the minimum qualifications per the County’s criteria, a final of five proposals were submitted and received by the court.
Proposals were unsealed and the estimated dollar amounts, as well as the estimated calendar days to complete the project, were recorded as follows:
• AR6 Construction & Engineering for $8,510,000 – 450 days;
• Greystone Construction for $7,650,000 – 365 days;
• Frontier Construction $8,360,000 – 365 days;
• Bandy Constructors $7,630,000 – 365 days;
• Tegrity Construction $7,347,777 – 360 days.
The court voted to receive the bids and refer them to DRG for assessment.
Gondeck stated that his office will scan in the bids, evaluate, and provide their recommendation at a future commissioners’ court regular meeting.
Referring to the county’s eight-million dollar budget, Gondeck added, “I’m always happy when we have proposals within the budget.”
The approaching annex building will be a two-story building with a total of 19,500 square feet.
It will be the future offices and operations for county business that will house the Justices of the Peace, Constables, County Tax Assessor, County Engineer, County Inspector, Elections Office, Administration, Human Resources, County Auditors, County Attorney, Veteran’s Services, County Treasurer and Public Information.
