The May Book Sale will be Saturday, May 4, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The June Book Sale will take place on Saturday, June 1, also 10 to 2.
The library thanks all who participated in the fundraiser dinner on April 13, especially the donors of the raffle and auction items, the approximately 175 attendees, the hard working board of directors, and the group who prepared the delicious King Ranch Chicken and desserts.
Every Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m. the Director, Ms. Dianna, reads to the pre-school kiddos and leads them in songs and crafts.
The library is deeply grateful to the Bandera Electric Co-op for their grant of $1,250 for the youngsters’ summer reading program, to support education and community enrichment.
The Summer Reading Program will begin June 5, with a Magic Show, and finish on July 31. Contact the library for more information.
The BYOB (Bring Your Own Book) Book Club, will meet Tuesday, May 14, 1 to 2 p.m. “You What?!” by John Chase, MD was recommended, as were “Landscape Plants,” just in time for gardening, and “The Real Anthony Fauci” by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. All are welcome to discuss all things bookish.
The Evening Book Club will meet Tuesday, May 28, at 5:30 p.m. They will discuss “Empire of the Summer Moon” by S. C. Gwynne.
The Board will meet on Wednesday, May 8, at 4:30 p.m. The public is welcome.
The Benefits Enrollment Center will be available Wednesday, May 8, 10 a.m. to noon. They provide application assistance for those over 65 or disabled.
The Garden Club will not meet in May.
The library will be closed Saturday, May 25 through Monday, May 27 to observe Memorial Day.
Early voting for the Republican Primary Run-off election, to choose our sheriff, will take place the week of Monday, May 20 through Friday, May 24, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the conference room of the library. Election Day is Tuesday, May 28, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the same location, for Precinct 2.
