Saving Shelter Strays and teamed up with Pipe Creek Clinic and held its second Trap-Neuter-Return (“TNR”) event for Bandera Residents.
As of this year we have fixed 136 feral and porch cats.
Saving Shelter Strays has applied for a grant to fix an additional 475 feral cats in Bandra which we hope will come through before the beginning of summer.
TNR is like the superhero of cat welfare. By trapping, neutering, and returning feral cats to their communities, TNR programs work wonders for both the cats and the neighborhoods they call home. Not only does it prevent the constant cycle of unwanted litters, substantially reducing the feral cat population, it also helps reduce cat-related nuisances and unwanted killing of birds and reptiles. Plus, it's a win for public health since it decreases the spread of diseases to resident pets and TNR is all about compassion and practicality – it's the smart, humane way to keep our feline friends happy and our communities harmonious.
