Peterson Health, Kerr County’s largest employer for more than seven decades, has been named one of the nation’s “Best Places to Work” by Modern Healthcare for the fourth consecutive year.
Cory Edmondson, President and CEO of Peterson Health, made the announcement to his team as part of their celebration of National Hospital Week.
“This award is a testament to the hard work of all of you. We are maintaining a culture that others want to emulate, and it’s not possible without the buy-in of everyone across the organization. What you have done is something to be proud of,” said Edmondson.
As an award-winning hospital for patient experience, safety, quality, and financial strength, Peterson Health applied for the elite workplace designation in February.
This award program identifies and recognizes outstanding employers in the healthcare industry nationwide. Modern Healthcare partners with Workforce Research Group on the assessment process, which includes an extensive employee survey. “Our warm and welcoming culture is built by creating trust and respect for every employee. I am very proud Peterson Health has achieved this honor for the fourth consecutive year. This is a great place to work, and it truly feels like a family,” said Audrey Ducker, Vice President of People and Experience at Peterson Health.
“With all the economic uncertainty, staffing challenges, and folks wanting more flexible work setups, every company has to get clever about how they attract and hold onto talent,” noted Dan Peres, President of Modern Healthcare. “The winners of the 2024 Best Places to Work awards really get it. They show us how vital it is to understand what employees want and need right now. With healthcare shifting so much, finding the right people is a top priority, and the winners know that keeping their team happy is the key to business success.”
