Incumbent Dan Butts faced off against Josh Tietge in the runoff. There was no candidate in the Democratic Primary for sheriff.
Early voting in May’s runoff saw just over an 8.5 percent decrease from March 8’s primary.
According to data from the Texas Secretary of State (SOS), 1,882 voters participated in early voting this month. March’s early voting saw a turnout of 3,454 voters.
There were 18,418 registered Bandera County Republican voters in March. That number increased to 18,595 for May’s runoff.
According to the SOS, 5,670 people Bandera County residents participated in the Bandera County Republican Primary, 30.79 percent of registered voters.
