It’s almost summer and the Walters family could be headed to a theme park, the beach, or even visiting grandparents.
Instead, Jason and Michele and their two children are eagerly anticipating a three-day convention with a few thousand people who will come to hear exciting good news!
“The convention is a welcoming, loving environment for people of all backgrounds,” said Jason, of Tarpley, Texas. “As parents of an autistic son, we often meet other families with special needs while attending this three-day event, giving us the chance to support and learn from one another.”
Jehovah’s Witnesses presented their 2024 “Declare the Good News!” convention series beginning the weekend of May 17-19, 2024.
The free, three-day live event is expected to draw over 21,000 attendees to the city over 16 weekends.
“These conventions are a real lifeline for so many in our community,” said Abel Palomo, local spokesperson for Jehovah’s Witnesses. “There you will find a family atmosphere and a wealth of practical lessons we can use in our daily lives. It is no wonder so many families set time aside every year to attend.”
Last year, nearly 13 million people attended more than 6,000 three-day conventions worldwide.
