Coreena Hazelett was recently honored as the Texas Association of Broadcasters’ 2024 Radio Broadcaster of the Year.
The Ranch Radio Marketing Group, where Hazelett currently serves as President and Chief Operations Officer, announced her achievement Thursday, June 6.
“Coreena is a remarkable person,” said Reck Tackett. “She absorbed RAB and all other training sources. In 50 years, I’ve never seen anyone have greater success learning and starting from zero. She is more self-taught than anyone I’ve ever met.”
Hazelett’s determination saw her become the top biller within her first year and Sales Manager within five years. She served on Dave Ramsey’s Affiliate Executive Council and received Ramsey’s ‘Quest of the Blue Vase’ Award, recognizing her for honesty, determination, passion, and responsibility. Hazelett’s career in radio began in 1993 at KRIO/KONO San Antonio, where she worked with the renowned John Barger.
As a single mother of three boys, she started as Office Manager, handling accounts receivable and payable, and quickly became an essential part of the team.
In 1998, she transitioned to Waterman Broadcasting’s KTSA/ KTFM as Traffic Director before moving into sales.
