Boerne High School’s Mighty Greyhound Band has been selected to perform at the Arthur Nagel Community Clinic's highly anticipated 10th annual Cork & Fork event in Bandera.
Set for Saturday, November 9,, this milestone celebration promises an evening of culinary delights and captivating musical performances in support of a worthy cause.
'We are thrilled to have the multi-awardwinning 5A Boerne High School Band join us for the 10th annual Cork & Fork,' said Chuck Lutke, Executive Director of the Arthur Nagel Community Clinic. 'Their participation not only enhances the honoring of America's veterans but also underscores our commitment to spotlighting young talent across our Hill Country community.'
All proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Arthur Nagel Community Clinic, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing accessible primary health care services to uninsured and underserved populations in Bandera County.
Renowned for their exceptional talent and dedication to musical excellence, the Mighty Greyhound Band, led by Director of Bands, Daniel W. Person, will showcase its repertoire with renditions of “Stars and Stripes Forever' and 'The Star-Spangled Banner” during the event's stirring annual tribute to America’s military veterans. In 2022, The Greyhound Band performed before 17,000 fans at AT&T Stadium for their division’s UIL state championship football game.
Last April, the iconic heavy metal band Metallica gifted $15,000 in musical instruments to the Greyhound Band for its winning performance in the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers' “For Whom the Band Tolls” contest.
Metallica had invited high school and college marching bands from around the country to share videos of themselves performing songs from the group's catalog.
